About how well the team supports people recovering from brain injury, day in and day out. Through our Pay It Forward initiative, we partnered with Headway to do what we do best: help people connect, adapt, and perform - in a setting where it truly matters.

 

The challenge

At Headway, delivering high-quality care is everything and like many charities, Headway has faced tough challenges—tight budgets, team restructures, and ongoing uncertainty. Amidst this, their focus has remained clear: delivering a high-quality, consistent service to people affected by brain injury. For any team, that is geographically spread and that work to different work schedules, maintaining a strong sense of culture and connection isn’t easy. The need was clear - re-energise the team, reinforce their shared ethos, and help people reconnect with each other and their purpose.

The solution

We delivered IGNITE - a high-impact session designed to spark mindset shifts and build stronger team dynamics. Through our Pay It Forward initiative, the Headway team gained access to Mindflick our digital performance psychometric, built to deliver real-time insights, helping staff flex, adapt, and connect more meaningfully - especially under pressure. The session created space for the team to explore how their mindset and behaviour shape day-to-day interactions, and how to flex their approach to better support colleagues and clients. The tools gave them the insight. The session gave them the shift. From personal lightbulb moments in the room to real-world reflection, the team began to see connection through a new lens and a renewed sense of purpose.

The impact

The team left with greater self-awareness, a shared language for communication, and practical tools they could put into action immediately. Conversations got clearer. Collaboration strengthened. And the care offered to clients reached a new level.

At Headway, performance isn’t about pushing harder - it’s about connecting smarter. And this is just the beginning. Over the coming year, Mindflick will continue to support the team through ongoing Mindflick Masterclasses, helping bring our tools and insights to life in the real world - ensuring what starts in the room leads to lasting change where it matters most.
